BOLD about BIRTH week in Columbia was a success thanks to the work and support of many individuals and organizations.
The organizer Barbara Austin, and her co-coordinator, Nikki DeSalvo Amick, wish to thank the many men, women and organizations who contributed, time, money and other forms of support to make this project happen in our community.
If you attended or participated in an event, and would like to send feedback to the organizing committee for use in future plans please contact us at boldaboutbirth@gmail.com.
Birth On Labor Day is…
- a global movement to make maternity care mother-friendly.
- grassroots events that use the arts to get communities to educate themselves, speak their truth and take action on maternity care issues.
- an awareness-raising and fundraising opportunity for groups, organizations and individuals to support mother-initiated dialogue and choices for maternity care.
Please join us during September as we create awareness of birth choices and honor Cindy Kerbs. Cindy is the bold woman who conceived and created the Lexington Medical Center Doula Program, one of the mother friendly childbirth choices within our local community.
